Looks great - who makes that fairing assembly?

Here's a link to the site where I got it - fits easily and cleans up a lot of (electrical) mess I had behind the headlight

Thanks - a couple of years ago I looked at one of those for the 690 - some issues back then with vibration (Australian customers seemed to be whinging most) but I think that model was then superseded

There are time when the wind protection would be good, but I reckon I'd trash it - or be constantly terrified of trashing it

The little KTM Hard Parts windscreen I had for the 690 only cost about $60 from memory, and did a reasonable job - could probably be taken on and off in a few minutes - WR headlight mask looks like it would fit Ok - the supermoto versions seems to work on someone else's bike - that said, winter's pretty much gone now and wind protection rapidly less of an issue ...

The main reason for the fitment was to tidy up the wiring / electrical. Comes complete with relay to sort out the mess behind the standard headlight.

The whole thing is well made and fits easily. Yes it was expensive but was cheaper than fitting the safari fairing. The adjustable screen is great.

Anyhow - each to their own. nothing else out there compares

Well it's been a while since an update - have been having some serious electrical issues which have hopefully been sorted, it appears the culprit is the main wiring harness (which is about to get changed once it arrives from Japan).

It's never been quite right electrically since the mod so hopefully this fixes all the problems

Just ticked over 21000k's which included a ride to Alice Springs (via Simpson Desert) and back- just a few small (electrical) probs with the bike and a few large problems with the pilot. Apart from that (and the electrical thing) still going strong. About to do the Rideadv B2B (Melbourne to Sydney).

Really enjoying the time out on this thing - the increased oil capacity and larger fuel range (up to 500k's) makes for a great light weight all round Adv bike

In the meantime time for a "facelift" (rear tank needs to be added)

Pretty well hooked on these - they seem to wear really fast at first then last ages. Did the Rideadv Dubbo to Alice and back (6000k's) on one of these and still had some left - ran at 28psi for whole ride (except Simpson desert) . Not sure what else is out there (except Dunlop 606) that will fit and last that long - my ride buddy used a 606 and got the same k's on one tyre

Open to others that may be better and last :thumb:
