I have done about 1500 km on mine now Lindsay , just the thing for long distance adventure in the East coast ranges  .

Things to look out for are :
Rear axle nut clearence of the muffler on full suspension compression , mine hit .
The seat is not really up to the job , I am going to source another seat and do the mod .

Thats about it , great bike .

Nice bike :yo:

Other then cost is there any reason why you don't run the header/pipe down below the foot peg, I think it would give it a better look

Well its' D-Day. A couple of things to finish off -
Add the power socket for the GPS and other goodies
IMG_1451.jpg

GPS mount - just need a cradle to hold the GPS
IMG_1452.JPG

Bottom engine mount gets in the way of the oil line
IMG_1430.JPG

remove the engine mount
IMG_1431.JPG

replace it with the one supplied - allows the oil line to get closer to the connection point

Just a couple of things to sort out -
need to grind a bit of the case saver - the chain just hits it
fit some insulation to the rear tank RHS fuel line as it it close to the exhaust - no one in Newcastle has any idea of anything that will work - all seems a bit too hard for anyone. tracked down some insulation in the USA will go with this. No wonder retailers are suffering - not much interest in solving. Working on a solution to the exhaust pipe guard
The blinkers don't work - this will probably take some mucking around as they aren't standard  Maybe a trip to an Auto Elec. to get sorted
Apart from that ready to go
probably need a seat mod and some suspension tweaking

Just need to organise some time away from the business for a test run :thumb:

Really nice project plinds! It's turned out perfect. :thumb:

WIth the exhaust close to the fuel line have you thought about wrapping the exhaust in header tape to keep the heat in. This works very well keeping heat off stators etc.

Now you just need to go for a big ride and tell us how it went!

Dave.

Plindz,is spiral wrap a option with fuel lines close to exhaust?pertick/enzed/ hosepro etc carry the product.Performance shops got exhaust wrap for extractors etc that works good on bikes also, would some spiral wrap around fuel line and exhaust wrap on pipe be a solution.
