990 looks great. Last year us and a mate and his missus went to Philip Island, took the Scenic Route from Adelaide Hills, via southern NSW and then down through some hills in Vic. Bright, Omeo and Dargo via dirt. His 990 made my GS look like a Rino vs a Gazelle. It just went where he pointed it, I think the 21 inch front wheel has a lot to do with it but the whole package just works on the dirt. On the black top they are no slouch either.
Ive got a vid of us jumping a log on a road after around 40 km, we wernt going to turn back so it was over we go. Ill se if I can find it if ya like, makes me laugh every time I watch it. It was more good luck than good riding that got me over it.

Certainly looks good, always great to go for that first ride after a long break.

How did the MOTOZ tyres go??
Cheers Baz.

Motoz Adventure tyres are shit to be honest.
The fronts are noisy, they wear strangely but they last well and are ok in dirt, bad on the road, really, really bad.
Rears are ok in the dirt and last ages compared to most others.
They are extraordinarily heavy and hard tyres and generally need tons of weight to balance.
I never run more than 24- 26 psi in them ever, just so hard.
The best thing about them is they are very tough, they last and Ive never had a puncture with them and they are tubeless.
Ive been through a few of these now.
For my future dirt touring, I dont think I will be replacing then with the same. Certainly not the front anyway.
Even a 606 is a better all rounder.

This is all based on the 18/21 versions.

Not sure what the alternative will be.

Totally agree, especially the front, horribly horribly bad tyre on the tar, the rear I don't mind, the front will go soon, don't know what will replace it as yet.

I run 28/34 on the GS, started out at 32/38, might even drop them to 24 in the front I think, dropping the front to 28 took some of the tail wag away.
Cheers Baz.

Hi 1CB

I'm interested in putting this style Nav tower on my 800GS I don't need all the Road Book mount just the light mount and screen - do you think Aurora would have something similar to this style or know somewhere that would preferably in Aus

Hey Lindz
Message "TheAnti Dimitri", he is one of my facebook friends and he IS Aurora.
Hes often travelling to rallies etc as he supports many pros including Scott Britnell so might be a little delayed.
Maybe even message Scott as he is the now Aussie rep for Aurora.
Cheers
Marc
