The Big Lap

Post by Boxa » Tue Oct 30, 2018 11:30 am

Seeing as this is called "That Dream Ride" ill start with my dream of doing a lap in the near future before this happens :chair: . Im going to try and retire early next year, after my 60th, and me and my wife would like to do a ride round our great country. I havnt told her yet but ive ordered a poster size map and it is going to arrive today hopefully. She will be keen to jump on the back as I have a hard time getting a solo ride in, not that I am complaining, she is a great mate and pillion.
We have done a lot of touring/ADVing down the bottom in SA and Vic with a cpl of trips up to NSW and QLD, the last a quick trip up to the Gold Coast for a mates funeral (RIP Mick) We had a quick ride up ass we needed to be there at a predetermined time but had a bit of a look round on the way back taking in some nice dirt roads and some great scenery.
Anyway I better go do some stuff like check the mail.

Good luck with retirement and getting the wife on board for a lap of our great country.
Traveling can be addictive the more you do the more you want to do.

I'm looking at doing the exact same thing in 2 years when I hit 60 and retire Dave. How long do you plan on taking?.

I'd love to do this, alas the missus wouldn't be able to ride, I have considered a back up plan of her driving towing the accommodation and me riding :D

Just gotta run that by her
Cheers Baz.

My missus doesn't travel so I'll be doing it on my own....we'd probably be fighting by Newcastle anyway :imaposer:
