Finally home.

Post by ED535 » Mon Jan 26, 2015 7:31 pm

It's Australia day weekend and I'm up early and heading to the airport on route to Brisbane.
It's been a long 5 weeks since I made the deal and bought my KLR650 from a friend.
An uneventful flight and I am picked up and taken to meet her.
Here she is, ready to head back to Sydney.

I rode to Thora, SW of Coffs Harbour on The Waterfall Way and we camped for the night.

Up early in the morning to go and meet Tom from Adventure Rider Magazine and we went for a ride from Urunga, through Taylors Arm, and on to Willawaren, then back to the highway at Kempsey.
I then headed home to introduce her to the shed mates and have a bath.

Not me. I was a pussy and towed it home.
Well done mate and congrats on the new addition to the stable.

Yeah I bought mine interstate (Vic) with 12mths rego.
When I got it back to Nsw it was regarded as if it had never been rego'd. Ie, i had to get a blue slip etc etc, then pay full rego, ctp and apply to Vic roads for a reimbursement of unused/cancelled rego -minus a hefty admin fee of course..
I did receive the reimbursement cheque, but during a moment of shocking absentmindedness, deposited it into my bike/fun/beer account instead of the bills, food, school fees account.
Well at least it won't get wasted..

Good luck with your new bike mate.

Yes I have the paperwork ready to take to the RMS and get a new plate.
I was lucky in a way that it only had a week left on it.
