*FU Carona Ride - Murrumbateman Cowra

With all this talk of viruses, lock downs, social distancing, death, doom and gloom, it was a good time to get away and socially distance ourselves.
Murrumbateman day 1 and onto Cowra day 2 and spend some money in some of our drought and bushfire stricken communities.

Day 1 Home to Murrumbateman

Kris met me on the Bells Line and we caught up with Dave at Mount Vic for a quick (crap) breakfast and coffee.
Heading into the forest south of Oberon and onto Jerrong



Sometimes I get a little bored but its such a good run to head south



Great weather, great riding



And Taralga for lunch















Great day, great riding, about 500 km
Stayed at Murrumbateman, good night, great accommodation, great company and a good pub.
What more could you ask for

Day 2 Murrumbateman to Cowra

Another perfect day
Slept like a log last night and raring to go.
Breakfast and a good coffee in the cafe next door and were off
Today would be fairly short at under 400 km but would do a lot of the scenic routes around Wyangala.

The awesome roads just keep coming



And lunch in this great little place n the middle of nowhere called the Tin Hut
Love spending money in these places and hopefully they will still be here next time.









Also got to meet Fred and Wilma




And more excellent roads









Bugger, I hate tubes and flats
We were on our way in no time





Got to Cowra, all good
But we couldnt get into the pub, new rules, social distancing blah, blah
End up eating a crappy Chinese meal instead, oh well, cant complain.

Day 3 Homeward bound about 450 km

Another perfect day out west, just a little cool but was going to warm up fast.
Only two of us today, Dave was having some clutch issues so he headed straight home just in case to avoid any more serious issues.
Had the included breakfast at the motel which was pretty impressive and off we went again.
Great motel, highly recommended



Quickly got out of town and onto the dirt





Quick stop at Wyangala, was heating up so needed to drop a couple layers



And into the hills







Through some of Pensylvania forest, the roads were bad..and out the other side



And back into some beautiful roads



And heading to Oberon for lunch

Great company and excellent riding.

Hopefully do this again soon
About 1400 km all up.

Great ride. I wonder if my road tyres would cope but the roads look pretty good.
