Re: QUESTION
I've got the Zumo 660 with maps from www.oztopo.com.au loaded onto SD card when I bought it off them. Has all the tracks as far as I can make out when I've been in the bush, but you can't know which ones are public or private.

Re: QUESTION
I've done a bit of a search and have come up with this thread to ask a question regarding shonky maps,
I just bought a garmin GPSmap 62 and am not keen on paying $230 for topo maps.
So after a quick search, came up with shonkymaps.
I've downloaded garmin mapsource and shonkymaps, but can't open shonky in mapsource.
Any help would be appreciated.
P.S. I'm a computer gumby.

Re: QUESTION

I just followed the instructions from the shonky site and its worked on 3 different computers now!
So Mapsource works and uses City avigator ok?
Did you run the setup.exe file after downloading and after setting up Mapsource??

Re: QUESTION
one67,
Does Mapsource work OK with City Navigator maps? If so open Mapsource and it just drop down the box in the top LH corner and load Shonky Maps. I have no trouble using Shonky with Mapsource and then the Garmin 660.
Good luck.
Cheers

Re: QUESTION
I'm at work atm, so can't play with it .
But I haven't seen City Navigator maps and don't know what it is.
All I know is that I'm supposed to open shonky in mapsource, but when I try this , mapsource doesn't see any file to open.
Don't know if I'm making sense to you guys, but I've tried it on a Mac and two different windows laptops.
Thanks for your help, I'll try again tomorrow. keep hitting me with whatever info you can think of.
EDIT: ok, I was just on the phone to the missus, who had another look at it. apparently mapsource was having a bit of a glitch yesterday and there was no drop down box.
But it's there now, when she tried to upload shonky to my gps, it says you must choose a map or trail ???
I'll have a look tomorrow.

Re: QUESTION
I would think that you need a base map installed first.
Did your garmin come with maps installed?
Did it come with a map CD?

Re: QUESTION
Yes it came with a very basic map installed.
I got shonky sorted, it's not much more detailed than the standard map.
Now i've just got to play around and figure out how to use it.
