60csx track log help

G'Day all
I got myself a Garmin 60csx a few weeks ago and am going through it all trying to figure it out.
What I am a bit stuck with is using the track log.
I did a 800k trip last weekend and saved the track.
I can bring it up again and it will show me on the GPS.
What I cant seem to do is import it over to my computer for a better look.
I am using Skonky Maps, not sure if that has anything to do with. More likely my ineptitude with electronic devices.
Any help would be much appreciated

Do you have the Garmin Trip & Waypoint Manager software, or Mapsourse Metroguide, City Navigator etc ???
You need to have Garmin software to download & manage the files,,,,

I have Metroguide & also use Shonky Maps (better offroad detail)
Some guys don`t tell you you need the extra software when you buy the GPS

I have MapSource and the trip and waypoint disk that came with it.
I got MapSource the dodgey way, buy using the updater from the Garmin website.

(Dodgey way) ????? Well that may be your problem,,,
Software needs to be registered to your unit using the units serial no. etc
I really don`t know how to get around this sorry

If the unit is plugged into pc & mapsource is running, all you need to do is click on the little icon to transfer from GPS to PC & away it goes normally ,,,,,

Yes it is all plugged in to the computer etc, but when i go to transfer the track it says that it cant find any. Even though it is

Thanks for your help there Eagle.
Got it sorted now. Missed the step where you needed to make a gpx file out of the track
