Big bike 80/20 tyres

Post by DustyWheels » Tue Feb 15, 2011 4:12 pm

with my trip to Bright getting closer I thought Id best replace the rear tyre.
Its done about 7000k and although its got about 4mm tread left in the centre, has worn very flat across the tyre.

with most of the roads being tar (expect for the Barry way and few others) thought Id go for a Tourance or K76 as they both seem to get good reviews, although the tourance does seem to last longer.
Was all set to go for the tourance, when I can acrossa review on the Shinko E 705.

wondering if anyone has used them and have any feedback to offer ?
I might ride like crap, but I'm having fun, I think

Hey Muddy. Vote 1 Tourance on the rear and something more aggressive on the front for steering your loaded up rear end through any sand you may encounter. :thumb:

If it was me going on a basically a road trip, the the Michelin Anakee is to me the best of the bunch.
Front and rear for wear, comfort, feel and a bit of dirt.
Expect 12-15k from the front and 10k from a rear.
The other option would be TKC80 or Karoo T on the front, good for about 8-9k and and Anakee rear.
These numbers for k's Im describing above are on the GS.
