Put the old foam back on with two 8cm round stacks of gel three deep under my sitting bones and a little seat scolloping . Looks happy .

Then went for another lap , reduced vibrations through the seat quite a lot but comfort after an hr still not great . And more cows on the road

So now three x 15mm foam , test run another day .

Keeping an eye out for some underlay foam too ( i can see a visit to a carpet shop in my future )

Final design is 20mm gel , one layer of underlay , shaped underlay and another underlay over the top .
The shaped underlay looking front to rear is a trapezoid pointing to the rear and then a gap 70 mm to a crescent shaped piece at the rear .
So my bum and legs have somewhere to fit . The seat cover is starting to look a little second hand after so many fit and refits ( staple holes )
Also fitted handlebar risers to sit more upright . Happy with the result .

Yeah looking good Laurie, having more joy than I have been with my seat.
Cheers Baz.

I found that the shaping into a saddle rather than a bench helped a lot
Also the bar risers sat me back a little and took some weight off my thighs
Only done an hour and a half so far but not even a twinge

Cheap ones from ebay $27.90 ( 22mm bar , 30mm lift )
When i first fitted them i did not like them as they moved the bars closer as well as up but after the seat mod they seem a better fit .
